Turkeys

2 weeks ago here they were still in their winter flocks. There was a couple strutters. In PA the last decade the hard gobbling is pretty well wrapped up by hunting season the beginning of May. That makes roosting and scouting more important then ever a head of time. I would say in the last 5 years of taking kids during the youth day we have had turkeys come in range and have seen others just out of range but none were gobbling the entire way in like I want for a kid. They gobble on the roost and then maybe a few random gobbles but always come in silent. Not sure why. Maybe my calling sucks.

@Gellar alligators on the banks and the turkeys have already busted up into breeding groups. I had two bona-fide rope daggers with five hens in my favorite spot yesterday.

I think I may go swimming.
