Turkeys - Let's see them!

Boy connected in KY over the weekend. Last year of the youth season for him and couldn’t ask for much more. Easter Sunday and the parking lot on Public was surprisingly empty at 5am. Decided to let the boy sleep and still no one arrived by 6am when decided to start in. Was one of those mornings where felt like we could not do anything right. Bumped birds off the roost, bumped birds headed to other birds, bumped those birds, headed to another gobble way far off that confirmed initial suspicions that was across an uncrossable river…..did our part to educate them, lol. Finally, 8 miles into the morning we got on one we could do something with at 1215. 2 moves later at 1245 finally came in with a lone hen. Did not gobble much….but put on a show. Big heavy bird…great start to the spring.

Last October, forty miles from the MN/ON border on my late grandparents’ farm, six yards with a Morrison Dakota, 55#@27.5, Surewood Doug fir shafts and original 190 grain Grizzly broadheads. Four days until the spring opener, and this bow will be with me again.

It's been miserable weather and I haven't been out yet this season.
tried this morning, maybe an hour or so of nice sunny weather before windy, clouds and light snow. Found a big group with multiple toms right away but on the wrong side of a river. Worked another solo tom in a clearcut and my persistent sinus issue I’ve had for 3 weeks decided to make me cough when he was hidden at about 50 yards. Good times

@WildWill and I had a heckuva day yesterday in Kansas. Got to see him tag a great gobbler just after fly down, then six jakes beat up on my DSDs for nearly an hour, capped off by knocking over one of my own after an epic stalk in the late afternoon.
