Sincerely believe that if you can consistently kill toms in Alabama-- especially on public land-- then you can kill them anywhere. Great bird, congrats!

You can see my boot print from where I stepped on his neck. Shot 10 yards from the ponds edge, his flopping ended 4 yards from the edge. Glad he stayed dry for the hike out.

Got out this weekend in Western MT while everyone else argued on here and the 'Slide about the mule deer proposal. The woods were QUIET...managed to dust a cool tom this morning. Headed out for 4 days this weekend to hopefully fill a couple more tags.

Thanks. Definitely one of, if not the prettiest bird I've shot. No missing feathers, nothing. He came in like a rocket too, so fun.

Haven't harvested a turkey since 2024. Turkey numbers are way down here in Kentucky. Just not seeing or hearing birds like we used to. This bird was hard to pull the trigger on. The only gobbler I've heard this season, but once his hens went to nest and there were 6 of them at least that I saw. He came working in putting on a show. I caught myself just watching and admiring before talking myself into pulling the trigger.
