How about it all of you hardcore glassers, what is you favorite tripod ?
(rated to support over 5 lbs)

What kind of head do you like ? (Loaded question) Ball ? Pistol grip ? Two way pan ?

Do you use one high enough to look through standing, or save weight with a low model ?

Do you like the interchangeable heads, or fixed head ?

Is Bogen/Manfrotto the only way to go ?

Anyone that thinks choosing the right binoculars or spotter is complicated, just try researching tripods.

I just bought a Manfrotto last year just for Fun. I'm not regretting it. 150k for the Legs and $150 for the Pistol grip I think ? It didn't seem much at the time because I bought a Sworo glass to go on it and a $200 cover for the Scope. :D

Boggen Manfroto is the only way to go for spotting scopes with a jim whitehead for spotting scopes.

On my glasses 10's and 15's I use a light weight outdoorsman tripod with a outdoorsman pistol grip head.

Amanda over at coueswhitetail has a store you can purchase the heads from
http://www.coueswhitetail.com/bookstore/tripods_adaptor.htm

and you can also buy them direct from the outdoorsman here in phoenix.
