Checked part of the line after work tonight until it got dark checked 3x 220’s and 10 330’s. The two beavers in the top picture were caught in 220’s about 10’ apart set for otters

I’m sad that it’s tidy time and I’m on time out until a season opens back up.
groundhog opens after turkey season ends and I’ve got 4 people asking me to get them. That’s what I’ll chase next until everything opens again.
Time to put in an order for some more stuff!

Looking at my inventory and with all the places I have now to trap I’m thinking another 12-24 dog proofs, 5-10 more 550/650s or whatever the MB equivalent is, and maybe a few more 1.5s. Those are fun!
I get that! I think this year with a bit more focus on dryland trapping, I’ll try a handful of different traps to see what I like. It seems like I have a variety of traps that would work for that but I do want to try a few MB450’s eventually. Then I can simplify later with one or two brands/models.
I’m set for a while with 1.5’s as I have a good stack of them, as well as some #11 long springs that hold raccoons well too. I just never got to them this year. I have a couple of properties that I bird hunt on that would be a hoot to set a couple dozen DP’s for a few weekends too.
All the possibilities!

Didn’t take many pictures but skinned the last beaver of the spring. Caught low 30’s. I even have half them put up already. Hoping over the next week to finish putting up the rest

Cats are hard. This one turned out nice!
I agree. I was very nervous about getting one done because I’ve seen so few I like. But this one turned out great. It looks even better in person.

Beautiful cat,was it a female? Usually the females we get are spotted like yours.
It was actually a tom. Not huge at 30# but not small either.

There is hope coming. After turkey ends this Sunday, groundhog trapping comes in (haven't done it before) and I have three properties people are asking me to hit for them!

Woot woot! I have about 12 1.5s ready to deploy today and some 220s.
This keeps showing up and it's driving me bonkers.
It's nesting season and I cant do anything about this little guy.

That said.... be ready to see lots of dead groundhogs and my trust S&W .22.
The interesting part now is making sure I make sets that dont catch other things..... I've got a few raccoons intermixed with these groundhogs.
