Topping new Savage .300 Win Mag

I recently purchased the Savage Bear Hunter in .300 Win Mag. I now need to top it with a scope. I've been looking at some Leopolds and seem to like the new features of the CDS turrets. So far the VX-2 or VX-R In 4-12x40 have caught my eye. Does anyone have any experience with these scopes?

Either will serve you well.

If it were I, I'd go with a VX-2 3-9x40. Excellent value for the coin, IMO.
