Do you know the weight? I just got a chance yesterday to get my hands on a kimber mountain ascent. Super light except for the 1800 price tag.

Id stop short of calling it a purpose built lightweight mountain rifle. However from what I've seen, most Tikkas will out shoot most Kimbers on their worst day.

But think, 6.5 RSAUM (GAP) or maybe a 6.5 WSM in a long action… you just need barrel and stock… you’d basically be 1/2 way to great sheep rig.
