The Rifle you haven’t shot in a long, long time…but should!

My percussion rifles, 2 45’s, a 50, and a 54 cal-all hawkens. My old Glenfield 30A 30-30, and my grandpas old Remington 742 carbine in 30-06. All of these guns are special to me but I rarely shoot any of them.
I like guns. Sell some to me and I promise I’ll put them to work.

I have a stainless, left hand, M70 chambered in 338 Jarrett that hasn't been out of the safe in probably 20 years. Its a great shooter, 225 grn. Nosler AB at 3146fps. I also have a 250grn. Partition load at just over 3000fps. Both loads are below max and shoot under m.o.a.

My Ruger Tanger in 30-06. Probably been at least 10 years.
This.
The last time I shot mine MissT was 12, now she is a Junior in H.S.

It has been to Africa twice, just not with me. My dad's primary deer gun was a Rem 742. RSA frowned on semi-autos, so he took my Ruger both trips.
Like all my rifles, it has a name. OSOK. One Shot, One Kill. It has lived up to that name except the time I put 5+1 into a raghorn bull at 3 yards.
I gotta say, carrying a Tang M77 chamber hot is not smart. Never again.

It was my first high powered rifle. It almost cost me my new marriage. I somehow forget to tell MRS45 I needed a new rifle to come to Idaho for an elk hunt.

It just points for me. When it comes to my shoulder, something dies. Even my Mkii Ruger doesn't fit me that way.

It is with @p_ham getting a new Timney and a 3 POS safety installed. When it comes back to me I intend to start working up all new Hammer loads for it.

It was my first bolt action centerfire. It was like new when I bought it. My brother got it for boot in a car deal. He called me one day and offered it me for a $100 with the tasco scope on it. He wanted to take some chick out ( he married her and had a daughter)and needed the cash. I told him ok but he could reclaim the rifle anytime.
He said he would never reclaim it but had no use for it. I swapped out the scope and the rest is history. Some years later he called and said he got another rifle if I wanted it for $100. Turned out to be a like new condition Browning ABolt hunter in 30-06.
Still have that as well. Now you might be temped to think ill of me for only paying him those prices for the rifles but I have helped him out over the years. So I’m not exactly ahead with him. Family so what the hell. I don't mind at all.

Great story.
We should trade brothers.

I have a Remington 141 game master in 35 rem that my father gave me after I shot my first buck. Have not shot this in over 35 years wipe it down every couple years back in safe.

Ain’t nothin’ wrong with the 35 Rem under 250 yards. Give it a wing!

Back in 1996, I won a .270 rifle at our annual gun club picnic "Top Gun Shoot" (a combination of scores from .22 LR and centerfire rifle and pistol targets along with a line of 16 yd Trap and Skeet).

I took it home, mounted a 4x Weaver scope on it and worked up 4 shot Moa load for it, and it's been a safe queen that I haven't shot ever since, or even taken it hunting.

I have a sporterized 1903 Springfield that was my late great uncles. It’s built on a 1918 action. That probably don’t meat squat to most people but I think it’s pretty cool. I shot an antelope with it about 25 years ago. I’m planning on working up a load for it with 168 gr Barnes and hunting with it a bit. It wears a leupold 3-9x42. It sits in the safe until I get time to mess with it!

Mess with it right now! Why would you hunt with anything else?
