I'm normally not a reader but trying to make myself into one. This book I'm having a hard time putting down. It is a nonfiction story that brings you back to the hunting culture from the 1940s to 70s in the Mississippi delta. Mostly in the 70s. Hunting with hounds on horseback, which is something I have always dreamed of. It provides insight to how deer became almost extinct and how in a few generations they were eating farmers out of house and home with the rise of the soybean boom. All the while centered on a hunting club and the camaraderie that used to be present during the days of group hunting. A very good read.
