That other Rinella fella

Nah, we got ozempic now.
Don’t get me started. Hunting influencers have changed the landscape of western hunting time will tell if it’s for the better, I go back and forth we definitely do need support for public lands I just don’t know if hunting is the best way to promote them.

They've changed the landscape of hunting everywhere. Imo not for the better. But what do I know....either way its too late now, that shit ain't going back in the bottle.

I wonder what's more frustrating of how it's affected it. Less oppurtunity in the west but still plenty of public or all the tags you want here and nowhere to do it. At least you guys can still look at them for free....for now.

A lot of friends and co-workers always tell me they'd love to go elk hunting. I always tell them no you really wouldn't.

Brother in law had an elk tag one year. We put a lot of miles on and he finally killed one and during the pack out he said he didn’t think elk hunting was for him. Asked him the next year if he wanted to put in with me. Hell no was his answer.

I realize this isnt an easy thing to do as its not just influencers making money off of wildlife, its an industry of influencers, guides, butchers, photographers, shed hunters, etc..But It should be illegal to make money off of wildlife period. This would rid of us of a lot of the influencer stuff. This would also expose who actually cares about the resource and who doesnt. Pipe dream

I think much lower bar would be addressing conflicts of interest of people in power who represent public trust.

I think a big part of the problem, here locally, is that theres tremendous political power. For example - outfitter adjacent/involved members of GG transition team:

Chuck rein
John Way
Cheryl Arnaud

What do any of these people know about good governance? I dont think leading a midwesterner to a pivotted bull really means a lot in terms of how to run the state. Perhaps thats why since republicans have had power - things like slashing income tax (and replacing it with a consumptive sales tax) have slipped the priority list. Expanding bulls for billionares - and with some clever help - putting NR landowners above working LO who live here made the cut though.

Like others - they probably arent saying the things out of their desires for a better world. They are speaking for their interest$.
