Today is the first day of the two day juvenile deer season in TN. 3 minutes after legal shooting light the first deer stepped out at about 175. Then two more. Picked out the biggest one as they slowly fed towards us. She finally cleared the other two in the narrow powerline that we were on. He shot her at 150 and she sprinted into the woods. The other two couldn't figure out what was happening and came and went for the next 30 minutes. She went less than 50yd and succumbed to a perfect shot.
He helped field dress this one, and drug her out all by himself. I told him that he will field dress the next one.
Back to the car by 9:30. I told him that it doesn't get much easier than that. Have a concert tonight and church tomorrow morning, but we will be buck hunting tomorrow afternoon. Not bad for a 10 year old
