Before some jump to conclusions about bad shooting... I have bowhunted whitetails for 25 years and I have witnessed bucks jump,duck and whirl on the release of an arrow.. 2 come to mind for myself. I took a 30 yard shot on a perfect broadside buck which was looking my way.. I let that arrow go and the buck ducked and had turned almost all the way away from me.. the arrow hit just under the belly and exited the arm pit all from a broadside shot. I was luckily able to finish him off 20 min later.

That stuff can happen. It happens with a rifle, too. That buck looks like he is doing just fine. That arrow is through muscle. He will eventually be shed of it and heal up just fine-unless someone gets him first.

Enough of the whining.

Quick to jump to conclusions, been there. Yep bad things can happen hunting. We are our own worst enemy.

I have wounded deer before and things happen beyond our control, and will give people the benefit of doubt. That being said I know who shot this deer and he had a list of wounded deer longer then Shawn Bradley's leg. One year he had 5.

My guess is the arrow hit something before it hit the deer, or the draw weight was really light, or the guy shot from a long distance. I am basing that on the fact that it should have easily passed through since it only hit the hide, or even if it glanced off of a vertebra. Not necessarily bad shooting, maybe just bad luck and hit an unseen branch.
