Good luck on your move. Catching a packers game would be pretty awesome. Biologist is on my radar for the flexibility, but being in the field all the time vs research appeals to me more. I hear archery season is the best time to get out as a warden, thankfully, its my favorite way to hunt. You beat me to this thread I'm moving to Green Bay soon to be by the in laws and wanted to hear what people had to say about the state. I've been there enough to know about the packers, beer, brats, and cheese curds. I can't speak to much else.
Good luck with the warden thing. After being an MP I realized I didn't want to be in LE. I went the biology and management route instead. I like it but warden salaries and benefits are typically a lot better. One thing that steered me away from being a warden is I'd rather hunt myself than work crazy hours during season checking other hunters. That being said I still know plenty of wardens that get out to hunt.
Im sure it is. I've been a niners fan since I was 5 an watched Joe Montana throw a TD. Never been to an NFL game.A friend from Wisconsin told me a Packer game is one expensive endeavor.
I like their other stuff a lot more, but it sure is popular. They have a decent Kolsch for summer, and Belgian Brown loaded with cherries that is fantastic.Spotted Cow is good beer.
I get it, but you’ll make more in hvac to move than a warden and when she retires at least you will have a good fall back I guess. Good luck and I hope she’s not as bad as she could be, let’s hope.I am a Master Journeyman in HVAC and a Master Journeyman in Refrigeration. It's not so much about the money for me at this point as it is doing a dream job and giving my wife the opportunity to retire so she can focus on her medical stuff. I don't need a mansion or 100 acres. Just a little hobby farm with a wrap around porch to call home and raise my kiddos like I was.
I hope you get it. I got lucky with what I have. Raised the kids. Funny, but I can't afford to down size. mtmuleyI am a Master Journeyman in HVAC and a Master Journeyman in Refrigeration. Your moving to Wisconsin you're gonna have to get thirsty.I havent drank much outside of bud and 307 blonde ale. Ill have to expand my taste buds
I think I’m going to drink one when I get home.Spotted Cow is good beer.
It's funny you can find original easier here than some parts of wisconsin. I'm ashamed/proud to think i personally have something to do with that. Canoe paddlers ain't bad but nothing comes close to the original imo. The wife disgrees as it turns the house into a methane plant. My favorite beer from the Leinie Lodge was the Canoe Paddler. Sadly, It’s hard to even find a leinie original anymore. They put fruit in all their beers.![]()
Not if your in laws have season tickets! We've done the Christmas game a few times, burrr.A friend from Wisconsin told me a Packer game is one expensive endeavor.
Thank you, sirI hope you get it. I got lucky with what I have. Raised the kids. Funny, but I can't afford to down size. mtmuley
Thank you, I appreciate the insight. Im going to have to explore that area this spring. Just to check it out and do a little local shopping. I love the small towns. Most of the new recruit game wardens here are assigned to urban or marine ares. Living in those areas is a world apart from the Northwoods or the southwest drift less counties.
Nearly every area has great fishing and hunting possibilities .
I am about as southwest in the state as you can get and it's a sportspersons paradise. I've even named this area The Forgotten Corner. But it is slowly being discovered.
If you are looking for a small farm , there are plenty of them but very few for sale and they sell fast.
Don't worry about being from out of state , the billionaires haven't bought up all the good areas and California Syndrome will probably never materialize here.
This being said , I would take some time and check out Wisconsin first before leaving Wyoming.
