Tailgate Ramp for Large Deer

A 2" x 12" would do nicely and would not take up too much room. The situation would dictate a lot of things. Are there trees to hook come alongs to? or a pulley to lift the carcass. Using ones imagination and creativity can bring about a good amount of success or heaps of trouble. I still have enough gusto to raise the antlers to the tailgate, roll up on to it and grab the antlers and pull to beat hell until I can clear one front shoulder and then just pull em in. Little harder with a topper on though. Helpful to have a raised topper

Watched some guys load a whole elk using a couple of carabiners and climbing rope with a board.
They put 1 carabiner near the front of the bed on a tie down, the other near the tailgate and ran the rope through like a block and tackle and slid the elk up the board into the truck bed. Worked surprisingly well.
The board just road in the truck bed with stuff on it until used.

If I'm hunting by myself, I just throw a 6' 2x10 in back of the truck and slide them up that.
