Step up your Dad game boys..

I really would like to have a real conversation with this guy to ask him why he finds this kind of hunting so enjoyable. It really has been one of the real mind benders for me over the years.

I feel the same way about sitting in a tree stand or over a feeder or food plot or having a field stocked with pheasants that you have to kick with your foot to get them to fly up. Just isn’t for me but some enjoy it.

First off, why’s he even need camo?
Second, kudos to the good shot placement. (Strangely clean wound though.)
Third, I understand that to a child-fishing ain’t fun if you never catch any fish. When you don’t have abundant public land with game afoot, you may choose to go the paid route to help ensure the child’s success.
In my opinion, this is the radical end of the spectrum. Surely he could have helped his son get a normal ass deer but like Sasky said, it’s equally (if not more) for dad’s ego. There is no such thing as a bad student. Only poor teacher.

Fixing to call CPS for that dad not allowing those boys the right of passage that is smashing nubbins and does on public like the rest of us.

I don’t see how that gets anyone excited about deer hunting. The genetically modified deer that they raise on those Texas farms aren’t any more appealing than a 200 pound pumpkin!

Failing as a grandfather, my grandson gets pretty excited over a small buck and shooting it with his Ruger 243…

I once had a guy tell me he hated duck hunting, but he did it because he loved killing the damn thigs. So, I guess if you hate deer hunting but love killing bucks with freakishly big racks then I guess shooting a tame farm raised deer is just the ticket.

I’ve got to experience 3 pretty fun hunts in the MT youth season between my 2 older kids. We had a great time. That being said, I understand the heart burn some have over it, and I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it if it was changed to where they had to just hunt the regular season.

As a parent, you’re kind damned if you do, damned if you don’t with kids seasons. If your kid shoots a good buck, the hunt was “all about you”, if they shoot a young buck, you should’ve had them let it grow or made the hunt more challenging for them. I just take them hunting, try to teach them things and tell them to tell me when they see one they like.

Also you can say you have strong Christian beliefs and values, but spending $20k? so your 12 year old can shoot a tame deer? No matter how rich you are its ridiculous. Sorry pal im not so sure you have Jesus in your heart. Im just not seeing the fruit in that action.
