I haven’t hunted snows in the spring in years but decided to try and pass shoot some for the pup to get some practice on. We achieved that goal of having some birds for him to fetch. Should have had more but you could tell I hadn’t shot a shotgun since last October 723306B7-74B0-48C4-83ED-8506C261C882.jpeg

Good looking pup!
Thanks he is a little over a year old. Last fall he got in about 100 retrieves. Hoping for at least that many this fall. Maybe we will get a good snow hatch and we could really get him on lots of birds!

Did the dog looked disappointed when you miss? I think the dog always expect perfection. Did you get any side glances?

I have not shot a shot gun in 15 years, so I am definitely joking.

I love snow goose hunting. Don’t get to go much as the good migration days seem to always be when I have to work but we’ve had a few good hunts

Lol he should be used to the missing now

Very cool! Grats on your pup's learned success! I enjoy these threads.

Have to love chasing birds into June, can only dream of birds feet down in the decoys for another few months.
