Greetings again, I am curious what the experienced late season cow/calf hunters opinions are for bringing a spotting scope along in the back pack, or would a set of binos be sufficient?. Based on all the e-scouting it appears that much of the area is open. I am looking at a couple units with near historical 50/50 draw odds for non-resident. I am planning my list for primary gear to purchase(really the only piece I don't own) and part of me says no it is not necessary. The only reason I can think of is using the spotter for finding distant tracks or feeding sign in the snow. This could be my first ever elk hunt based on the draw.
Thanks in advance
Brian
