Turkey scouting turned shed hunt. Birds had moved out of the woods across a road to a alfalfa field so I scoured a couple bedding areas. Most I've ever found by far in a single day. Had one trailcam pic of the big guy late October but that was it.

Four complete heads. Had to be a bad winter.

I have never been into sheds. Complete heads are awesome.

Polar vortex...Had a week straight where we never broke 0*, and one night was close to -40*. Usually Lake Michigan shields us from the brutal cold and we just get a lot of snow. This year it hardly snowed and was miserable cold. Found 5 other doe and fawn carcasses that had been scavenged. This was just all on my folks 100 acres. Not looking good for next year. The only positive is the DNR is really pushing for a reduction in deer density to combat CWD that is slowly creeping towards us from the northeast, in our county now.
