Hi,

I've been trying to do my diligence with scouting entry points, potential backcountry camp spots, and viable water sources for a multi-day backpacking hunt.

Are the drainages/areas west of the backside of mount Linn, i.e. west of long lake, burnt camp, cedar basin, promising terrain to bag a deer?

Sincerely, Scott, B zone first timer

Deer numbers are low in comparison to other western states. That said as a general area any of that ground with water, cover and feed is good deer country. Your question will only be answered with boots on the ground.

Short answer: it is as good as anywhere else in the unit, and other people are aware of it too.
