son's first grub fish

Here I am stuck in Iraq and the wife takes our 9 y/o out to practice casting and hoping to catch a fish. I worked with him before i left and told him to keep it up so we could go fishing with grubs and swimbaits for spotted bay bass and halibut in the Cali bays or surf. He caught a nice spotted bat bass about 15 inches or so, first one on lure. Oceanside Harbor Cali

Erik I'm in the Marines stationed in Camp Pendleton CA. I'm originally from Montana and I'm next to Habbiniya which is half way between Ramadi and Fallujah.

My wife is a helluva fisherman too, but taking care of our 1 y/o son makes it hard for her to fish, but she takes my older boys. Yes she is a great wife
