Something about spring bears and my cams. They just hammer the hell out of them. Most of the time they are just spun around or crooked, but others, dang. 2 of 3 cams up north are out of commission. One was wrecked 2 days after I put it up, 3 weeks down the tube at a primo spot. Did get a few good ones before the havoc.

This guy rubbed himself into halves.

Here is the damage being done.

what was left of my spring bear. All I got here for predators was ass shots of bears, before one came over and wrecked this cam too!

I have found that putting up some nail boards around my cameras really helped with damage prevention. Some good pics though!!

Drahthaar.....maybe if you'd stop rubbing bacon grease on your cameras the bears might leave them alone!!;)

You could also build a cover for them and leave openings for the camera itself and the infrared/flash sensor. Then you could attach it to a tree with chain or something better than the bungees. I like the nail board idea as well.

I feel your pain on the bears tearing the cameras off. I notice when my brother added more bait they always got messed with. I think he re-baited first and then started touching the camera and switching out SD cards.

They can't get them off the tree, they have a pelican case with a bike lock through a piece of pvc. But they try long enough to eventually push the fresnel lens(which disperses the PIR) in or break the glass over the flash or lens. Luckily, this time they just pushed in the fresnel. One of the cams had the main circuit clawed off the board, it was rattling around in a puddle of water inside the case. I think I can solder that back on though.

Came back home today and ran up the mtn to check on 2 other cams. Lots of deer and elk up and down the two trails. But I really liked this pic. Great to see these calves.
