Took my 3 & 8 y.o. out for elk this morning, left the house at 7:15. My hopes weren't high. We were going to hike into a "stupid spot" 300 yds off a road. We got into a group 50 yards from the truck, no bugles, but the small 5 pt made every other noise he could make. They were in bow range for a few minutes but no shot. Was a great morning with the boys. When we got home they almost got in a fight to tell mom what happened. Luckily, we saw 2 moose also, so each had a story to tell.
