We don't have all the mallards the guys up north do so we get a mixed bag but the shooting can be great.

Here's a limit I got yesterday, there were so many pintails coming into the dekes I had to pass up shots on a lot of ducks just to miss hitting more pins.

Nice job on the ducks, and good looking hunting spot you've got there.

Welcome to HT.

Thanks for the comments,

I've been visiting for a long time so I figured I might as well join up. Now all I have to do is get the photo format right and I'll have it made.

Welcome aboard. Keep posting limits of ducks. The smilers sure look different up here when they are in eclipse phase.

I resized your pic for you.

Welcome aboard Camo. Good job on the Cali ducks, that doesnt happen daily down here.
Was that at San Jacinto or Salton Sea? I hear its a real challenge to get more than a couple birds at these spots because all the pressure. Let me know where you are I need members for the NWTF IE chapter if you are interested?

Thanks for all the great comments!

Cameron, these came from the Bakersfield area, but I have taken limits at the Sea and San Jac too. Those can be tough and are the exception though because of the competition and the sky-busting.

I've tried for the local turkeys but they are pretty elusive. I shot a bear in San Bernardino NF a few years ago and when I stopped back by the gut pile there were turkey feathers all around. I don't know exactly what happened but it looked like the turkeys were sharing the feast with some other critters.

Let me think about the NWTF, I'm already in DU, RMEF, NRA and CRPA.
