SNOW SUCKS!

I was telling my daughter about that winter last night. We were way past the "tall Indian" deep and the county took a D8 dozer and cut a ditch parallel to the road to serve as a trap because they couldn't plow anymore. Once it melted we had a lake in the field. We had the boat in there rowing around. Even with a culvert big enough to walk through all crouched down, it took most of the spring to drain away.
We were a tougher people then.

Guess we got around 4 inches but it's probably in Ohio by now. I can see a layer of ice letting things keep moving. Some pretty bare patches and then some drifts but nothing bad. The wind is still howling and snow is still moving around. I'm staying in the house.

Kids want to go plow the driveway, I looked at them and said "are you $*)Q!#@$ nuts"!!??

Mother Nature apparently thought yesterday wasn’t enough. She’s piss pounding us even worse today.
30+ inches so far with high winds.
We had a fire page out earlier today and most of us couldn’t even get down our roads..,thankfully it was just a power line down with no structures involved.
I have our Dept . Of Public Works readily accessible to a plow for emergency calls, otherwise roads are impassable and even normal snow plowing has been halted for now.
My wife’s car is now hiding behind the snow bank in pic 1

The blizzard of '78 was awesome! By 10 am every beer keg in East Lansing was sold, and we were dragging them down the streets with ropes.
Somehow I made it to work at 6 am , Chevrolet in the Hole Flint , and they sent us home because of not enough people to run the line .
It took me four hours to get back across Flint and home . We were snowed in for days .

Stay safe @recon6036. Aint nothing worth going out for, even when your wife makes brownies but you don't have any Tillamook French vanilla in the freezer.

24" here and it's still coming. Took 3 hours to clear the driveway. Forecast for another 3-5 this evening.

I hear Costa Rica is an affordable place to be an expatriate in. The Pacific side, along the Gulfo Dulce with a little cabana and a nice panga while also chasing roosterfish with a 10wt in the surf.

Yes. I feel that is where I should be. Not this god-forsaken mitten with nothing but ice and cold.

26” here from Saturday night through this am, sun just popped out finally.

I snowblowed x5 times yesterday, woke up and may as well not have- 3 foot drifts on the driveway. I don’t remember ever having a storm worse than this one, the wind and freezing rain mixed in at times turned the snow to concrete.

Dont leave out the ticks!!! Dog beat out me and my son 27-8-7 on a 45 minute walk two Thursdays back. Between the ticks and skeeters, Michigan sucks, tell all your friends!!

If you dont mind waiting in line for meds once a month (never did get all the details on that), Costa Rica didn't seem too bad. Razor wire and monkeys beats piles of white stuff, ticks, and mud.

I saw Razor Wire and Monkey open for Iggy & The Stooges at the Clair Shores Civic Arena in 1973.

High

Also recommend.

Probably regret this but the weather folks have botched it more this winter than I can ever recall in my life. I don't know what it is I know staff have been cut but can't be all due to that. We seem to always be on the edge of stuff. Good for our deer and pheasants and should be crawling with turkeys again, not so good for our grouse.

Latest 8 to 12" turned into 4. Still managed to hit a hard frozen bank and bust the shear pin on my wheeler plow. I don't remember doing it but at some point I bought a spare. Pretty mild one but then if we get a big storm it's usually this time of year lately.

She made Apple Crisp and we loaded up on ice cream just before the storm rolled in…..preparation!
Thankfully, I have an Arien’s 30” deluxe.
