We were a tougher people then.I was telling my daughter about that winter last night. We were way past the "tall Indian" deep and the county took a D8 dozer and cut a ditch parallel to the road to serve as a trap because they couldn't plow anymore. Once it melted we had a lake in the field. We had the boat in there rowing around. Even with a culvert big enough to walk through all crouched down, it took most of the spring to drain away.
What is the problem? It aint even up to the railing.
I was cruising on the Harley and smoking ribs.Last monday my kids were having a water gun fight when I got home. Fast forward 7 days to a blizzard.
Kids want to go plow the driveway, I looked at them and said "are you $*)Q!#@$ nuts"!!??Guess we got around 4 inches but it's probably in Ohio by now. I can see a layer of ice letting things keep moving. Some pretty bare patches and then some drifts but nothing bad. The wind is still howling and snow is still moving around. I'm staying in the house.
I was 9…..drink PBR by then, but not by the keg.The blizzard of '78 was awesome! By 10 am every beer keg in East Lansing was sold, and we were dragging them down the streets with ropes.

Somehow I made it to work at 6 am , Chevrolet in the Hole Flint , and they sent us home because of not enough people to run the line .The blizzard of '78 was awesome! By 10 am every beer keg in East Lansing was sold, and we were dragging them down the streets with ropes.
24" here and it's still coming. Took 3 hours to clear the driveway. Forecast for another 3-5 this evening.
Stay safe @recon6036. Not this god-forsaken mitten with nothing but ice and cold.

I swear you've seen every band there ever was. And a few dozen that never were.I saw Razor Wire and Monkey open for Iggy & The Stooges at the Clair Shores Civic Arena in 1973.
High
Also recommend.
She made Apple Crisp and we loaded up on ice cream just before the storm rolled in…..preparation!Stay safe @recon6036. Aint nothing worth going out for, even when your wife makes brownies but you don't have any Tillamook French vanilla in the freezer.

I hear Costa Rica is an affordable place to be an expatriate in. The Pacific side, along the Gulfo Dulce with a little cabana and a nice panga while also chasing roosterfish with a 10wt in the surf.
Yes. I feel that is where I should be. Not this god-forsaken mitten with nothing but ice and cold.
