Headed out to see if I could find a turkey this morning. Kept hiking ridges and trying to get an answer but everything was quite this morning. Finally spotted some feeding down a draw and worked my way in on them. Got with about 120 yards and set up and started calling. I could see at least 3 toms but couldn’t even get a gobble out of any of them and only one was half ass strutting. Just kept doing some light calling. The hens slowly made their way my direction followed by the toms. Was pretty cool to see that paint brush swinging with a snow outline. Beard just barely broke 9” and spurs were right at an inch. Good sized spurs for a Merriam around here.
