Slow weekend

My younger brother headed up this way for a waterfowl hunt. He was late, so I went on a quicky deer hunt (have a couple doe tags to fill). I ended up having 15 deer walk within 80-120 yards, but 13 of them were bucks. If I would have had another day, I would have moved the blind, but instead I spent time with the bro and dad who couldn't deer hunt.

Here are a few of the deer. Like I said, some were out there 100 yards, so a little blurry.

I know, I know, lots of brown birds here. When the brother shows up, it is usually it is "it flies, it dies". Axl was not impressed with the worthless family dog that staying in the pick-up, but showed up for pics with his ducks.

Piss poor days for ducks and my brother missed his gimmie swan. Hopefully I can get him back up here this year and redeem myself.

Way to go, you've got a good spot there. Cottonwoods and water, like a magnet, the deer are there, eh. Is that where the ducks were too?

He is 26, so I have him by a decade + 1. He is 6'5", ( I make him slouch in all pics), but I can still put him in his place.

Great pics again Craig.........have you seen any signs of EHD in your area ?? Some Pheasant hunters have been reporting finding dead WT in the sw part of ND.....

Looks like you've got a nice spot picked out.....and don't worry, the big boys will show up, although the pic of that last one looks darn nice to me.......

Hoping to get out all day on Monday...."hunter's moon" is gonna be prime time for the pre-rut to fire up......good luck to ya...
