Another option would be to get a used rifle at a shop in Mass, then just sell it again when you leave.

In NH... I won't be able to purchase a gun in MA, but yeah that's a good point.

Plus I'm going to draw a NE moose tag so you know will need something

Found a true glow combo for $25... going to see if I can get a IC for slugs and buck shot... kinda ridiculous my 870 only came with a modified.

IMO/E modified is the most useful. Lots of folks here have gotten by with foster style slugs through a modified choke. For slugs I'd lean towards a rifle choke tube or barrel. Fully rifled barrels open up the options for sabot slug and the cantilever ones allow for easy use of mounting a scope. For buckshot I'd lean towards modified or tighter. Patterning it would be the only way to tell.
