Shooting in Anaconda

Thinking about all the Anaconda folks this evening. Seems this is happening everywhere on a daily basis.

One of our job sites was shutdown there today from the road closures. There was a lively debate in house about not having guns on the job site. Today we were wishing the superintendent was armed.

Speculating, and it will be released eventually I’m sure, but 10:30 am is not exactly the busiest time at the watering hole. Could it have been targeted and the suspect knew his target would be there?

I agree. I’m expecting this to not be a random mass shooting incident.

This security cam photo they released of him at the Owl Bar looks to be mentally unstable individual. Barefoot, shirtless and in his underwear and looks like Golem from Lord of the Rings to me. Super sad regardless but this photo makes me think either drugs or some sort of mental disorder involved.

Brown's niece, Clare Boyle, told The Associated Press her uncle struggled with mental health issues.

"This isn’t just a drunk/high man going wild," she wrote in a Facebook post cited by the AP. "It’s a sick man who doesn’t know who he is sometimes and frequently doesn’t know where or when he is either."

Seems a lot of this lately.

Here in Michigan a schizophrenic stabbed 11 people in Walmart in Traverse City. One of his previous run ins was digging up dead bodies in a Petoskey cemetery.

Last I heard the search for the guy suspected of strangling his daughter has been scaled back because of lack of leads on where to look.

If these weren't people wanted for serious crimes I'd say I was impressed with their ability to remain undetected. For their mental state, it seems incredible.

If what she said is true, and there’s no reason to doubt it, then a family member or the state should have had guardianship of him and had him in a secure facility. He’s obviously a danger to himself or others. I know that may seem severe to some, but it is truly the best, safest option in some cases.

If it's anything like the company i work for, they write that in for liability reasons. Really, they appreciate it. But if something happens, they can say "no our handbook says no".

Better to be safe than sorry. People suck nowadays.

I've been with the company for 17 years. They knew when I first got hired my position. Kind of a formality in the "handbook". mtmuley
