I noticed how few bucks there have been and haven't shot a local buck for a couple of years because of it and none have even made it to 4x4.

Neighbor's kid with friend stopped by this AM wanting to shoot the local 3x3 in my field. I told them it's about the only one left in the area. They didn't care and have been "hunting" it for a couple of weeks. Curiously, they said they shot at and missed it last night. No, I didn't bust their chops. I did hear the shot about dark.

I don't know if the 3x3 will make it til tomorrow night. If it doesn't, it won't be my fault. I expect the regulations will need to make a change. Fingers crossed. Just a bit of a vent.

I assume this is Montana? I'd get in touch with your local biologist and get their input.

It's Montana. I probably should reach out.

Fwiw, 6 shots Saturday about dark. I don't know if they found it or not. The coyotes were a bit louder than normal. Seems like they might need to practice shooting. At least the fork horn didn't come down to where they "hunt", so it made it through the season. I haven't seen the 3x3 since Saturday.
