Me? Which ever one shoots expectable groups and I'd think of which I'd want to lug around all day. Better to be 'good to go' at the end of the day, than be Gung Ho in the morning & then fizzle. I have a Rem 600 carbine in .308 that weighs in at 7#'s fully loaded. I can carry it around all day ezzy-pezzy. Sure, I lose some velocity with the short barrel, but then again sheep, deer, 'Lopes aren't all that hard to kill.
