Semi Live TX draw hunt

My buddy did the one south of Van Horn a few years back n got an old man of a muley
Always wanted to do the auodad in the Palo Duro
 
I don’t have the time but got a group of friends that go stand by at quite a few of em n have real good luck getting drawn; especially at the Chap
 
Well...dog is lifting time to start glassing. I can hear a deer blowing hard to my east. The wind is coming from the north east so it’s not me. Lots of coyotes in the area.
 
Shot and he ran 10 yards. Still standing and by sure if the hit. Deer is beaded 25 yards from tree.

The fog on the staked plains of Texas is some of the thickest fog I've ever seen excluding Monterey bay CA. Have you seen any mule deer on the wma? I've seen a ton around Pampa and a few in Canadian. Hope you get a good one goodluck.

Congratulations, and way to make it count in new places. I was never able to master public land or draws in Texas when I lived there. What a whopper of a deer!
 
Good job, looks like letting him lie was the right choice. Congrats on a great whitetail !
