SD Antelope

I've recieved my archery tag for SD antelope. I've done quite the search and am planning on hiking into the Indian Creek Roadless area near Scenic, SD. Does anyone have any additional information or tips on this area? I don't need your secret spot or anything like that, just what ever you want to tell me. This will be my first time archery hunting in this area, so any additional information would be helpful.

Well the numbers there will be VERY low IMO but the good news is you likely won't see another hunter if you are off into the grasslands on foot. I know a few who have hunted down there and taken some very nice goats but again the numbers are dismal. SD is way down on Antelope and we'll need a few more years to recover. Also, that's really never been a high population area.

Change spots to the SW corner of the state. Numbers are much higher there. Lot's of public access in the grasslands and WIA.
