Bigfin, remember my concern with the landowner telling me I had to stay on the county road only?? I was right, he was trying to screw me. I stayed on the road all day Thursday and it hurt my scouting for sure. Friday the whole gang of guys show up and are driving every 2-track out there. I drove all the way back to Raton to go to the F&G to talk to them about what what I was told. He said I have the right to use any 2-track that is established already, and the land owner cannot tell me to do otherwise because the F&G make the rules of the contract between them. So Friday afternoon I did some much better scouting and was able see those goats that were 3 miles off the road much much better. This place was crawling with lopes, that was awesome! I saw more bucks in 20 minutes than I did all of last year combined in AZ. I could actually say I never was able to get out of the truck and glass 360 without seeing at least half a dozen lope in the distance any any time.
