Savage model 93 problem

Hey guys,

Got a new savage 17 hmr and was sighting it in when the magazine blew out the bottom and split the wood stock all the way to the trigger. ( broke the magazine too)

This happened on the 7th shot as in a total of 7 shots.

Savage is being great about fixing it but I wanted to see if anyone on here has had this problem.

There are reports of it on other sites but I am trying to see just how common it is.

I've had a Savage 93R in .22mag since 2015. Hundreds of rounds fired and never had the issue you speak of. However I can confidently state that the magazines are garbage. I've gone through 3 of them for various issues from splitting, to bent feed lips, to spontaneously puking all the rounds out the top when loading (my favorite). They are fantastic little guns as it pertains to both accuracy and the trigger however they dropped the ball on those mags
