Savage Arms and thier trademark icon

In a world of political correctness and over sensitivity they still have the same icon. My wife and I were watching the outdoor channel and a Savage commercial came on. at the end of the commercial they showed the Indian head logo. My wife brought up a good question... why have they not been attacked for thier name like all the sports teams? With a name like "savage" i think that would bring an instant attack from the tribes.

Speaking of derogatory nicknames for sports teams, I read in Sports Illustrated a few years back (before I cancelled that rag) that there was less support from Indain tribes for calling on teams for a name change than there was with the general public. I take that is more contrived controversy, nothing more. Redskins has to go though.

.300 Savage99 in storage for some odd years but will touch it off the first week of April.....even the native Americans can appreciate the time line...and the wait...any ideas on a new rifle? ...have been considering Rem,Sav,Wthby,T3, in the .300 win mag...blued and SS with lam and syn stocks...any ideas from the pro's out there???

Now to my way of thinking, to name a team or a product line after Native Americans or after a tribe is the ultimate compliment and show of respect. Don't understand the reasons to take offense.
