Well I knew it was bound to happen.Looked in the paper today to see my grandparents farm up for sale on a silent bid system.Grandpa and grandma ended up in the nursing home this fall and my grandma passed away in november.I was the only member of the family that spent any amount of time on the 250 acre farm. Worked there during the summers while in school and helped out when they called or while I was out there hunting. Its where I shot my first buck as a kid, trapped my first coyote, and cut my teeth turkey hunting and small game. The cattle have been gone for a few years now and the cropland was being rented out. From what I understand it was put into my aunts control and she decided to dump it.I enjoyed the time I had there I guess now its 100% public hunting for me.

Sorry to hear it for your sake. Seeing someone else sell or occupy long held family property gives you a violated feeling. I've managed to hold onto a few acres of my great-great-grandfather's farm after it has been divided three times in the past.

I know how you feel. I have had it happen to me. My grandfathers land, where I learned to hunt, is now covered with houses. Makes you sick.
