Ruffed Grouse Drumming UP CLOSE

When we were in Montana this spring we snuck up on a Ruffed Grouse on its drumming log. Very cool to see in person. The video doesn't do it justice because it is hard to hear the low frequency drumming noise. Thought you guys might enjoy.

Best to wear headphones to hear the drumming noise.

When I was out turkey hunting this spring the grouse were going crazy drumming...was awesome to hear. Plus it really showed me just how many grouse are in the area I was hunting...alot! Great video.

For kicks.... I uploaded a couple of blue grouse videos I took on Yellowstone hikes. The first is one I took this week (Aug 19th) of a male calling on a log. The call is too low in frequency for the camera to pick up - it sounds a bit like a bullfrog - but you can see the grouse going through the actions.
