RIP Jimmy Buffett

I’ve been in the mountains for a couple of days and come out and hear this news. Damn, this one hurts. I was always proud that he was a fellow Mississippian. Heck of a musician and businessman. He built an empire.

Went to a couple of his shows, one in Dallas, one in Boston, decades apart and he never lost the energy.

And my wife just reminded me that we had the JB special at Le Select on St. Barth's. Yep, lettuce and tomato, Heinz 57 and french fried potatoes. Cold Kosher pickle, and a big draft beer (Heineken IIRC).

He anchored there for a month, according to local lore, again, IIRC. There may have been a few gin and tonics involved too.

RIP, JB. Thanks for the memories.

Saw him play at a friends birthday party back in the late 80's. Quite the show even though his genre of music wouldn't have been my personal choice. I still have to say it was one of the best parties I've been too..
