Rifle Elk Caliber and Bullet Choice for 2023

308, 300 prc, 6.5 creedmoor. Probably in that order. Conditions determine range, typically 500 for me. Could get well past that with the prc. If i get wild and get a b tag, maybe 223 rem with a 77 tmk, to show how little energy it takes to kill a cow elk ;)

I joke. I only buy B tags to bolster cow numbers!

6.8 Western with 175 Sierra tipped Gameking or a 28 Nosler with 175gr Long Range Accubond.

300 Win Mag with 165 Barnes TSX out of the good old Model 70. It's the cheapest factory copper stuff I can find right now.

When I'm hunting I'll be in a pretty happy state.

I know, I know, I know, another elk rifle piece. I wanted to log the first choice(and only choice) of the rifle caliber and bullet choice you plan to use on this year's rifle elk hunt. A limit of 400 yards is set. And what state will you be hunting in? So here I go:

35 Whelen using a hand loaded 225 gr Nosler AB, Hunting Colorado's 1st Rifle Season
.243 with 95 grain SST

7PRC with 145LRX, maybe, could be 338 Federal and 160 TTSX, or it could be something else like 50 cal 290 Barnes, all still to be determined.
