Looking for thoughts on how to remedy this problem. I thought (hoped) it would go away on its own, and that has not happened. Every piece of brass comes out scratched up, sometimes the scratch is deep enough that I would consider it a gouge as you can catch your nail on it. I picked up a borescope to see what was going on and there's some pretty decent gouges in the chamber.

What is the best way to get this chamber cleaned up? Am I good to keep using the brass with gouges, keeping an eye on them of course? Does this have an impact on accuracy?

Take a fired case, resize it and make it a little smaller. Drill out primer and then thread it. Put a bolt in the threaded hole. Chuck up in a drill. Put very fine lapping compound on the case. Then insert and spin. Do small amounts. Clean very, very well when done.

On one of my hunts in Mozambique the other hunter in camp was sighting in the camp .30-06.

I picked up several of the fired cases and noticed that they all had a same dent in the body of the cases. I pointed that out to the Outfitter and told him that there was a rust spot in the chamber.

He looked at me kind of funny, then looked in the chamber and could see the rust, then gave the rifle a good cleaning.
