First the chrony worked great, I didn't get all of the guns chronyed but most of them.
1. 17 Rem 20gr Vmax N140 4280fps. Happy about that. hump
2. 223WSSM 53gr TSX varget 3650. Think I can get more out of her
3. 25-06 100gr TSXs RL19 3300.
4. 270WSM 110gr TSX H380 3250. Going to try to get to 3500.

This is the results hopefully I can get some more loading in this week with some better results on a few. Deer season is right around the corner. HAPPY HUNTING :D

Gotta love the quarter-06....let me know how your 270 short mag does.

Guess you kinda like the triple shocks.

Yup, the TSXs are my favorite big game bullet. I was really impressed with the 17 it has a 22 inch barrel and I wasn't expecting that kind of velocity. I am 2 grains off the max. I am hoping the .270 will get up to that 3500. I am going to try to get some off of my 338RUM but I only took 2 rounds today for chrony only the rest were sight in rounds and I was 12 feet away the first one and no reading then 15 and still no reading. Maybe to much muzzle blast any way I will keep trying. HAPPY HUNTING

Ruger243223... Not trying to be a spoil sport or anything, but what about standard deviation and accuracy? I KNOW... it's fun as playing with sweater kittens to spin the chrony up as FAST as she'll go. I love seeing the fast and big numbers flash on the screen, but the smile turns into a smirk when a 3/4 inch 3 holer opens up to 3.5 inches at the cost of gaining 200 or 300 feet per second.
I know a guy who thought he was the next Einstein when he jacked a .30-06 up to 3125. Yep, pretty impressive -except for a frozen bolt here and there and the fact it would print these weird looking 3 shot, 6 inch vertically-strung groups that would land where ever they wanted to at random.
I'm not telling you what to do or to stop having fun. It's just that a screaming fast bullet is only useful when it's accurate. I'll go back to eating worms now. Dave

Hey there Dave :) Most of these loads have already been zeroed. I just picked up the chrony about a month ago and just now have been able to use it. All loads shot under 3/4. The 17 shoots .3 the 223WSSM .2 and all others are -.75. So yes I do think I can get some more out of some of the different cartridges but some already suprised me with what they were pumping out especially the little 17. But anyway to make a long story short all loads were developed long before I had the chrony. HAPPY HUNTING

Good to hear that, Ruger. I guess I just flashed on a situation I once dealt with involving a friend who constantly confused velocity with accuracy. He never did get it corrected. Still, you're right -most of my most accurate loads were at the top of the velocity range. But not always.

Yes I have just looked at the books on the loads that I have posted data for and most are right at the top, which is good I suppose, I just got back from trying to get my .338RUM to shoot, it seemed that I couldn't hold zero, mounts were not holding so I got a set of talley lightweights and now with a gay looking barrel deresonator it shot .315. Pretty good for a larger caliber. Anyway I hope to get this load chrony soon. 92.8gr of RL22 210gr TSXs should be a great deer killer. HAPPY HUNTING
