Reloadable Snake shot

A long time ago I loaded some 38 cases with #6 shot, 2400 powder and topped them with a gas check. You can also use wax if not exposed to hot weather. I shot from about 16" with no problems getting the snake, although one time it was close of him getting me.

I got the caps ordered and have plenty of #8 shot. I'm still looking for a compatible powder that is fast enough. I also load 9mm, .38 and .357 but haven't found a recipe that uses the slower powders that I use for them. I hate to buy a pound of powder for 100 rounds.

I've loaded them with marginal results. I've had the caps crack if I crimp too hard, and if I don't crimp enough the capsules will shift whether I keep them in speed loaders, strips, or just in my pocket.

I thought if I load them again, I might add a bit of super glue to the capsule to retain them in the case.

I was thinking about using case marking paint as a sealant.
