Relax, Everything is Going to be Okay!

I can't see that, at least near to the level you're implying. What specifically did the left do recently? I mean that as an honest question.
So previously in this thread it was mentioned that the current regime is pressuring social media companies about posts made that are critical of the admin or its policies.

I’m sure you and I have the same opinion of that.

A few years ago under the prior regime, the Feds were pressuring social media companies to censor posts on certain topics or with certain data or opinions they didn’t like.

It seems like once these gates are opened they don’t close, and only open wider.

I certainly hope it isn't true that the current leadership is doing that. It was wrong of past leaders to have anything to do with that and IMO the punishment was not adequate. If indeed current leadership is pressuring censorship they should be dealt with accordingly and an example set that will deter this in the future. No place for it.

Well, you know, the current administrations playing with the mainstream media. So what makes you think they won't play with social media?

They can and are doing whatever they want because there's nothing anyone can or will do about it.

The laws do not matter

I hope you said the same thing during the last presidential term? right? I have no issue with calling out incorrect information being reported. Both ways. It's everywhere. I do have a problem with trying to silence accurate information. It would also be helpful if MSM ensured the accuracy of their reporting.

Tactics chosen and used is completely unrelated to local agency cooperation /collaboration.
The tactics are obviously different if they picked up the person from the jail while in custody versus chasing the same person down on the street.

There are other examples. If you care, you can find them.

Minneapolis is getting better day by day. I don't personally know anyone who is upset by MN getting a cleanse. Everyone I know is happy it's happening. Even LEGAL immigrants I know and work with are happy the people who budged in line are finally being held accountable.

Only negative I've seen so far is a good place to eat locally got "shut down" since they had 2 illegals working there. Magically, they opened back up a couple of days later after they initial news story wasn't in the headlines anymore.

I actually read this with an open mind and appreciated the perspective. Not being aware that immigration laws are civil and not criminal I googled it an read the articles. What I found if accurate is entering the country illegally is criminal. Overstaying a visa is civil. If true why would you leave that out? Seams like an important detail. Unless I am not reading what you wrote properly.
The federal government cannot force local jurisdictions to honor detainers, an interpretation repeatedly upheld by the courts. Some state courts have also ruled that the laws of their state do not provide legal authority for law enforcement agencies to hold people on an immigrationdetainer. In fact, jurisdictions that do honor detainers can be found liable for unlawfully holding an individual on a detainer without a judicial warrant in violation of the Fourth Amendment, and may be required to compensate individuals for damages.

Here is what I was sent after getting in touch with a law group and getting on their email list.

Our client, Jon Doe, read a news article about government attempts to deport a man seeking asylum from Afghanistan, where he could be killed for having helped the United States government against the Taliban.

Appalled by the man's treatment, Jon emailed the government's lead attorney at a publicly available email address to politely express his disapproval – simply calling on the Department of Homeland Security to "apply principles of common sense and decency."

Within hours, DHS had subpoenaed Google for information associated with Jon's Gmail account, including his address, Social Security number, and driver's license number. A few weeks later, federal agents came to his home asking questions about the email he had sent asking DHS to protect the asylum seeker.

This is an outrageous overreach. We have the right to criticize the government. Jon merely sent an email to a public official expressing dismay about the official's conduct of his public duties. Nothing could be closer to what the First Amendment is designed to protect.

That's why we asked the courts to throw out this subpoena.

The government's actions are intended to intimidate our client, chill his speech, and punish him for dissent.

Absolutely not the case. From dozens of people and direct relatives I know who live there. Some of whom have had key roles in the republican party. They tell me this "miscalculation" has things backfiring so much it obscures the fraud and other issues they had hoped to make an issue of in next falls election. Recent democratic caucuses had record first timer turn outs. This hurt and hurt bad and is not going away soon, if ever.

Did you see the leading republican candidate for governor dropped out blaming the Administration for "making it impossible for a republican in MN to win" (direct quote). He's not doing that if everyone is happy!

I will take things that didn't happen for $500 please. Maybe your google account is different then mine. Mine does not include my Social or DL number. I would however agree that the Afghanistan pull out was horrid. Some good people were left behind and their is still those working to get them out. With that said let us pretend that what you just posted is unbiased and accurate. This guy helped the US interest. He was neglected during the pullout. He now is seeking asylum and the US says no? Why? IDK. Because everything is screwed up and we are slowing down to correct it. Because we don't care? Who knows. Or could it be he is not as genuine as reported and may have some associations that are being investigated before turning him loose in the US? If he does have some associations that are questionable and they are actively seeking to investigate a lone letter of support may be worth investigating? Still don't think it happen. But who knows

Exactly. Which is why again I say look to what's happened in Arizona.

Right now, one county in MN is being sued for going further than the law allows them too (Freeborn County). 5 counties in Wisconsin are being sued for the same thing. The ACLU has said they are watching the results of those cases before suing even more counties that have cooperated.

Taxpayers are on the hook for those costs.

Maricopa county AZ taxpayers can attest to that--they have been on the hook for over 300 million dollars--and counting.

And again, if it's truly the worst of the worst that is the goal, there is no problem for local LE to dive in and deal with them. That's just not been the case under Trump--or Sheriff Joe.

I said everyone I know is happy with it... I don't know Scott.

"Scott Jensen announced Monday morning that he’s withdrawing from the governor’s race and will launch a bid to become the next state auditor."

You paint a very different picture in make believe land. https://kstp.com/kstp-news/top-news...-governor-race-launches-campaign-for-auditor/

Just in case anyone needs a reminder.

Mark my words, when the dust settles, illegals can't vote, and fake daycares aren't funded, this map will have a lot more red.

When we only see the country as red or blue, friend or enemy, we are all screwed as a nation. Chances are pretty good that if one of the folks from the reddest spot on that map met another one from the bluest in the grocery store aisle, they would say "excuse me" and "thank you" and not think a thing of that person's political views.

Ask yourself who benefits most by dividing people into red or blue. It's not you and me.

It's the politicians I have a problem with. I have a problem with billions of dollars being wasted. I know a lot of level headed people from both sides of the aisle. Neither like the extremists on either side. MN could benefit from a leader who supported the state.
