Not far from where I grew up. Drove through Fairmount on my way to Ball State. Smoked a cig and drank a beer at his grave some 23 years ago.

Jim Davis, creator of Garfield, also grew up in Fairmount.

I'm on the other end. I used to visit his crash site a couple times a year going from home to visit friends at Cal Poly SLO.
Used to be that you had to know where it was. Now there is a built up memorial down the road from the actual crash site. Folks still leave stuff at the actual crash site.
