Rangefinders that don’t suck

I use my older Sig Kilo 2000 for archery but agree it has its issues. In fog this year I couldn’t get it to range more than 6 yards for a couple hours, on top of not being able to get ranges past about 550.

I picked up the Revic BR4 at the beginning of this year and it is phenomenal for rifles. DM me if you want to try out the Revic. I think we live in the same town.

My Bushenell sucks. Don’t buy one of those.

I’m thinking that Maven might be getting a CRF1 order from me very soon.

I switch from vortex to leica, vortex sucked in snow. Leica cfr 2400 r has been awesome, had a notification on ebay for a while and scored one for 385, then another for 345.

There's one on there now for about 480 shipped.

Might have to go try a Leica at scheels if they’ll let me take it outside. I can also get a good deal on the Maven, it’s pretty tempting as well.

I think you will like the Leica I didn’t treat mine very well and it lasted a long time the glass ended up getting foggy or a glaze on it. Could barely see through it two years ago and strangely enough I got a sig and it’s been fine so far I only use it for archery hunting.

I have a Maven RF1 and the only complaint is the knob on the side feels bulky. But after buying some Lecia Geovid HDBs used a couple years ago I haven't used the Maven much. But also haven't been archery hunting as much.

Sig just replaced my decade old, and very well used, Kilo 2000. I didn't have super high expectations when I called their customer service but they determined very quickly it was a warranty issue and gave me options for replacements. Ultimately I decided to upgrade to the 5k (which I now have to wait to come back into stock).

My kilo2000 was a workhorse and I had no complaints about it.

Ranger finders are finicky tools.. went 2 for 2 on Leica Geovid HD-B 2000 and 2200 not working once temps got into the 30s. Sold the 2nd replacement without using. I use Sig Kilo 10k G2 binos for matches and when I want fast ranging more than top shelf glass in hunting. 1st set I had got mechanical issues and they sent a replacement promptly.

Still use an old kilo2000 for archery hunting and it works fine. Have had a kilo2400-ABS (with applied ballistics on board) for a long time and it has been good. Dont use either much. Had a leica CRF-1600b for a while that I either lost or it got stolen.. That never gave me any issues either.

Moral of the story, it seems like any of them could shit the bed. Pick one that will get replaced and test it in the cold before needing it on a hunt!

I had a Leica rangefinder and loved it. IT worked very well but I sold it when I needed the cash. Big mistake. My lovely bridge got me a Leupold rangfinder that is okay but not anywhere near as good as the Leica. It ranged further and faster.

What sort of issues were you having that they were okay with?
