Quick easy question for you guys regarding camping on public ground in WY

On a related note, what are the regs for cutting down beetle killed trees around your campsite?

This is 100% fine as long as the trees are dead. I have cut every dead tree around my camp down that was leaning toward my wall tent. The agencies realize that there is so much beetle killed LP out there, that it really is a safety hazard. The last thing any agency wants is to see people get killed from a tree falling on somebody's camp.

Also, you DO NOT need a firewood permit to cut firewood for your camp.

Right you are no permit required for camp wood. Just don't take any with you, permit required for removing fuel woods. I would agree that the FS will not hassle anyone for cutting standing dead from around a camp. Don't drop a tree on the road.
