The Regs are a little confusing........Can a non-resident buy 2 "whitetail" tags? Or do you have to purchase a "regular" deer tag, and a "whitetail" tag in order to have 2 tags?

first tag i believe would be regular price and you could get a second tag at discounted 199.99 if i read it right. I know as a resident i bought an extra whitetail tag at the discounted 199

Trying to figure out if you can buy 2 "whitetail only" tags? Or do you have to buy 1 "regular" and 1 "whitetail" in order to get 2 tags. Not too concerned about price.

Thanks

If I recall corectly you can buy a general season tag that entitles you to take a mulie or a whitetail or a wolf. You can buy whitetail or mulie or wolf only tags as well.

Buy the general season tag and check the zone as zone one is either sex 1 Nov to 1 Dec. You can buy additional tags OTC.

WHOOPS! Foot in mouth. https://fishandgame.idaho.gov/public/docs/rules/bgDeer.pdf

Nonresident Deer and Elk Tags
Nonresident deer and elk tags, excluding nonresident junior
mentored deer and elk tags, are valid to take a black bear,
mountain lion or gray wolf instead of a deer or elk, if a season
is open for that species, where and when the deer or elk tag is
valid, and if there is an open deer or elk season in that same
unit. See page 112.

Deer hunters may choose either a regular deer tag or a
white-tailed deer tag. The regular deer tag is valid for any
hunt listed under “2014 Regular Deer Tag Seasons” on pages
15-19 and may be used to take a mule deer or white-tailed
deer during those seasons.
The white-tailed deer tag is valid for white-tailed deer only,
for any hunt listed under “2014 White-tailed Deer Tag
Seasons” on pages 21-24.
