Anyone else getting real excited about this Sunday? I personally enjoy the upland opener better than the phez opener as there are much less hunters and I usually get more shooting overall. Plus, now when I'm out elk scouting, I can take my 22 and pop some mountain birds. Just some cooler weather would be nice for me and the pooch.

I'm stoked for upland, my pooch is getting antsey! Grouse opens here tomorrow.

I'm ready. Got my 4 wheeler all ready to prowl the mountain roads. Got a couple good spots lined up for blues and ruffs.

Can you shoot grouse with a 22 in Montana?

I'm missing out on grouse this year, I'll be looking for an elk to line up behind the green dot.

i just double checked the MT regs...ok to take mountain grouse species with shotguns, bow and arrow, rifle, and handgun, but no rocks or sticks
