Wildlife and outdoor photography has always been a major hobby of mine, but it was separate from hunting, something I did on dedicated non-hunting trips, and during the 'off-season', mostly because I never wanted to lug heavy camera gear on hunts.
Last year I decided to suck it up and just bring the dang camera, and it was worth it! Below are some of my favorite shots from the year, all while either hunting or scouting.
Note, if you recognize any of these spots, feel free to DM me, but otherwise kindly keep it to yourself ya filthy animals.
This was a planned detour en route to a Spring Bear scout, to watch the Greater Sage Grouse lekking in SW Montana.

Wider shot of the Sage Grouse doing their thing

Elk country. Sage. The colors of early fall.

Packing in the find the beasts.

A Great Gray Owl, found in western Montana while bear hunting in the Spring.

Bears aren't real

Prongdong on the move in SW Montana (didn't have a lope tag this year, was deer hunting)

Fox on the prowl

Maybe bears are real.
